1981 300D Part Suppliers
Is there such a thing as a "One Stop" onlineMBZ part supplier(or somethingclose to One Stop) with parts for this age car? Other than dealers of course.
I am too deep into Mexico to drive to the border for parts and therefore need a supplierwho willship down South. Via UPS or HDL etc..
My experiencehas beenif I need 5 parts I need 2 or 3 suppliers. One shipment to Mex. is very expensive and often exceeds the cost of the parts, not to mention having to make 2 or 3 shipments to get 5 parts. Mex. Dealer advises they have no diesel related parts or mechanicsbecause diesels were never sold in Mexico (If I understand him correctly. My Spanish is very poor)
HELP! Multiple suppliers are killing me [sm=smiley11.gif]
Thanks, Mickey

RE: 1981 300D Part Suppliers
Mickey-
With some notable exceptions (fog lights, window motors) parts cost pretty much the same from the dealer as they do from aftermarket suppliers. I have had great luck with my local dealer and Autohaus Arizona. Perhaps you could find a dealer north of the Rio Bravo who will ship to you?
Although, when I lived in Panama, we used to have a terrible time. The local car dealer wouldn't order motorcycle parts and I had to beg and plead with my favorite stateside motorcycle dealer to make sure that he only used plain brown boxes, insured everything, and didn't list BMW anywhere on the box or they would certainly get stolen before they got to me.
Good Luck.
