Default Wanting to fix car audio for a 1984 300 D

I'm pretty car illiterate, as well as audio illiterate. I have a 1984 300 D, I think I have four speakers, 2 up-front, and 2 in the back. I know that the audio has already been updated ( I have a single disc cd player ). Its a Kenwood, with 45Wx4. Now the problem really I don't think is with the cd player at all, but it seems like my front driver speaker is blown out? It makes a crackling noise with the music, and etc.

Now looking at bestbuy and all those places for speakers and etc, I'm not really sure what I would need to get? Would I just want speakers, or what is a subwoofer and amplifier and etc.

I'm not really looking to have amazing audio in my car, just would like it with out the crackling. Any input on do I need the other items or just speakers? Since the cd player is just 45Wx4 output, I would assume I dont need anything real good.

Any input would be greatly appreciated - including you know if my car would have limits on what can be put in it.
