SLK 230K R170 Audio Revamp (Help apreciated)
My slk 230K is equiped with the original audio setup, I work away from home for long periods of time and dont realy have much time to enjoy the car, but I want to revamp the complete audio system.
I have a few things I really dont know, and since I am away at work and want to purchase de equipment, I wonder if someone could tell me the following:
-How many and what size speakers are fitted by factory
-Does it come equiped with the Bose amp, What size is it and where is it located
I am thinking on the following setup, can somebody please coment or give me advise:
Alpine Head Unit - iDA-X305
IMPRINT unit PXA-H100
Speakers - Infinity 652.9I (165mm / 6.5")
Subwoofers- Infinity 1050W (10")
Amplifiers- KTP-445 (Alpine)
Alpine MRP-T222
BLUETOOTH - KCE-400BT (Alpine)
My Slk is a late 1998 european spec model, origanaly sold in Germany.
I dont want to win any DB contests, just a clean and crisp sound quality.
Thanks

You picked good equipment. I am fuzzy on that car, but if I'm not mistaken you have a pretty tough sound setup. 3.5" in the front is not much to work with; save up for some component kickpanels. Will make an unbelievable difference in sound. If set up correctly you won't need 6x9's in the back. Another thing: sounds like you are going to do this on your own. Pick quality wire, don't even worry about using a factory harness adaptor (you are using a 4-channel amp) and be patient. Rushing is where mistakes get made. That and use the proper tools. These cars don't respond well to hack installers.
