I have a 05 C230. When I press SAT on the radio it just says acquiring. When I press the ESN button it does show a ESN. I also looked in the trunk and on the right side I see the control box and the car has an antenna on the trunk lid. But shouldn't I at least get a free channel? Why does it always say acquiring?

I want to activate it but want to make sure everything works first.

The Acquiring message is most likely an indication of a bad antenna. I have the same factory installed Sirius receiver in my2005 C230.I used to have the same intermittent issues with mine, and couldn't pick up the new updated channels recently added to the Sirius line up, until a few weeks ago. Mercedes is aware of the issue and has a servicebulletin out on this, and my dealer contacted me to bring the car back in. According to the dealer they replaced the receiver which also corrected the issue with the "Acquiring" signal.
