Default Satallite Radio

I want to install satallite radio (Sirius) in my 2006 ML 500 but hate the aftermarket face plates. Does anyone know if I can purchase a module to be installed and work thru my existing stock radio (w navigation)?

I am about 3 weeks away from having a solution, however we have a car show to attend in that time. what i have been doing is a sirius starmate or xm commander. you can use the aux in from the factory if equiped, have dealer install if not, or if none are viable give me a call

jim,

Thanks for the response. i do have the ipod interface but i would gladly wait 3 weeks or even 3 months for a true interface solution that would come up when I push the SAT button on my radio. Is this the solution you are 3 weeks from? How will or does the antenna for the satellite work/rout?

seperate module, interfaces with the command screen protocal, works on the MOST Gateway, less expensive than factory. do you have the factory ipod piece or the after-market? Also it will be XM or Sirius

Well here is the update, the engineer is back burner'ing the Benz satelite interface for both the nav and non nav unit. They are currently persuing the Porsche's because of supply and demand.

Now what you can do is get the Sirius Starbase4 or the XM Commander, and use the aux inputs and have the screen of the starbase/commander mounted elsewhere. utilizing the aux input you should be around $300-$350 region for satelite. However it won't display on the command unit, or the basic AM/FM/CD unit, just the display which can be integrated into any vehicle professionally.

hope that helps and I appoligixe.

Also there is another option which we have done already and that was to do an aux input on the command, video converstion and add the Alpine Vhub, which turns the command unit into an Alpine, allowing you to add DVD, HD, iPod, CD Changer, DVD Changer, USB, Navigation (if you received a command w/o Nav), bluetooth.... and on and on and on

on the last option, you will be close to the $2K mark to get it swapped over and work with Alpine. Depending on some units, steering wheel controls will toggle video on and aux in on.

I also forgot to mention, you can add the rear camera to the above also
