S203 Android headunit install problems
HI All,
I have a 2001 C180 Kompressor which had the CD radio (1DIN) installed. I replaced it with a Chinese android headunit which also came with the can-bus module for the steering wheel commands.
Everything works fine, I have steering wheel commands recognized, it is even recognizing when I put the car in reverse.
Now my problem is the following. The unit does not power off/power on with ignition, even though I linked it`s ACC wire to the lighter + wire in the front console as seen on these forums.
To make my life even worse, if I leave the car locked overnight and i manually turn off the Headunit, when I come back the lock/unlock functions will not work so i have to use the key, but as soon as i start the engine the lock/unlock with the key fob starts working again. Also I get SRS error which goes away after engine start and after i turn the radio on. What I noticed is that after I installed the headunit the lighter power stays on all the time.
My best guess is that the Can decoder is somehow affecting the car behavior.
Does any of you encountered such behaviour or do you have some ideas on how to fix this?
