I am trying to find detailed information regarding the 1996 MBZ S320 LWB Bose 11 speaker audio system installed in my car. Supposedly, it is a 2 ohm system, according to a Best Buy auto tech that I was hoping could perform a head unit replacement. And, according to this tech, all new head units run at 4 ohms, which will supposedly offer sub-par quality and potentially blow the amp. Is this correct, and are there workarounds, so I do not have to rewire the entire car, and replace all the speakers?

I am hoping to upgrade the head unit to a solution that will offer HD Radio, Bluetooth, and audio in jack, while keeping the existing OUT system, i.e. wiring, amp, speakers.

Any assistance and wisdom is appreciated.
