Default C 250 Turbodiesel 2000 :Air in fuel line

This beauty has done 70,000 km. Suddenly did not want to start due to air in dieselline. Replaced by new fuelline tubes. Stil air. Now MB agent workshop suggest a modification namely nonreturn valve in fuel line. Is this a MB upgrade on the C 250. or put in other words: is this the protokol to follow should this problem appear. Woul appreciate any input here. Thanks Register today for free or log in if already registered to remove this ad!

Just want to know if you sorted the problem? As far as I know putting in a nonreturn will not help. All O-Rings on fuel supply system must be replaced and don't forget the O-Ring in the Diesel filter housing. I had the same problem and that sorted it out.

Renier, much obliged!!!!!!!!!
Yes, it seems sorted out. After talking to the workshop foreman in another town, my mechanic ensured me that ALL o'rings were replaced and shutoff valve installed as well. When you live 100 km+ from the nearest MB workshop and you smell a rat, you tend to grasp at any advice. Your experience puts me to ease. 'Trust me I am a Doctor' can be coverted to 'Trust me,I'n your MB mechanic'. PEACE be with you on this wet Sunday Westcoast RSA. Eastwood
