Default 77 300d, air in fuel line? no start,

Dumb move, left the water separator loose, air got in.
Drove the car about 1/2 mile from the house & then slowly lost power then stopped. Now I can't get restarted.
Will it work it's way out by itself if I keep cranking?
If not what do I need to do?

Thanks in advance!
