I have a 2001 ML 270 CDI, which i bought 2nd hand. All was good until today. I started my ml and it had trouble starting, as if the battery is going flat. Drove it for 5 mins, all was good.

Stop my car and tried to restart, ml started to shudder (as if the batt is going flat) and would not start. waited for half hour, tried again and it started but acted like batt was going flat. As i drove, i notice this time that the trans has gone into emergency mode.

Can it be the battery? Can a weak battery cause an emergency mode? I am worried abt taking it to the merc dealer as i do not have much money. []

Does anybody know a good workshop with fair pricing in Perth, Australia?

Any advise would be appreciated.

No Worries mate....

Got it all sorted out, bloody expensive though... Battery issue 'cos of alternator not charging properly.
