W124 wheels
Hello everyone,
I recently bought a 1993 320 CE. It has the original 15" rims, the ones with the 8-hole design. The width is 6 1/2J, ET is 44. I'm looking for an extra set of rims, to fit winter tires. I've seen a set on E-bay in exactly the same design, but the guy says they're from an early model C-class. The width is 7J, ET is 37. I figure with the wider rim, it is necessary to have a lower ET, but the instruction manual says 6 1/2Jx15 H2 ET 44 in combination with 195/65 (my rims) or 7Jx15 H2 ET 41 in combination with 205/60.
So the question is: Is this lower ET (4mm) acceptable regarding handling, wear on the wheelbearings, brakes, tires?
Thanks in advance.
