300TE + 17" SL500 wheels and tires = ???
I am new here and if this is the wrong place to post this, my apologies.
I recently purchased a new set of wheels and tires for my 300TE and although a local mechanic urged me that anything up to 20" would fit, they are just too wide. I am having rubbing trouble with the tires and am not quite sure what to do!
Should the wheel wells just be shaved a little and perhaps replace the springs in the suspension?
Or would it be better to simply buy thinner tires (as a last resort I am hoping).
How exactly would one go about widening the wells?
