I am selling my 1989 300SEL. This is a beautiful example of the classic W126. I have not owned the car very long, but it has been great during it's stay. I bought the car from a very nice father/son team in Florida that did a majority of the work. I drove it back to Philadelphia the same day, about 1200 miles. The temperature was in the 90s for most of the trip and there were periods of very heavy traffic and the car didn't stutter once and never ran hot. It was a perfect road trip car. Dead quiet, reliable and very, very comfortable. It goes down the road true and straight with no pulling or vibrating. It's a gorgeous car, with very minor surface imperfections that are far less than anyone would expect from a 24 year old car.

The Good:

Interior is in great shape, no rips or tears on seats. Dash in perfect condition.
Headliner is nice, no rips or sagging. Has a few marks/smudges
Fairly New Tires
All switches, buttons, lights and gauges work as they should.
All new brightwork
Resprayed lower body panels all around
All original manuals and guides
Tons of maintenance and upgrades.
Dynamat Sound Deadening throughout.
Ice cold air and hot heat
New exhaust

The Bad:
-Slight rust on some panel edges, see pics.
-Sunroof doesn't open. PO siliconed the sunroof shut. I'm not sure what the issue is, I never looked into it. The motor does start when the switch is pressed, but that's as far as I got. Does not leak.
-The center panel is loose. It looks like the clips have been broken off. It is just sitting in place. See pic.
- Odometer does not work. True mileage unknown. I have put 3000 miles on car since I bought it.
-SRS light is on. Not sure what is tripping it.
-Some surface scuffs on the leather of the pillar covers. See pics.
-Rear speakers missing. Also, no speaker covers. See pic.
- Antenna does not extend.
-Hood was removed at some point, may need adjustment to even gaps.
-Usually starts on the second crank if left sitting for a while (more than a few days). But never takes more than 2 cranks.

I'm selling the car because it doesn't suit my needs entirely. I bought it to try something new and out of the norm for me, and it definitely fit the bill. It is not my daily driver. In fact, I probably only take it out once a week, a few miles here and there. I like my toy cars to be a little more on the fun side, something smaller to get around the city in and not worry about it fitting in parking spots (the SEL is a big girl...). Its size is really the main reason she's going. The garage she is kept in is only about 7 inches longer than the car itself, so it's a tight fit and I need to pass by the car frequently. I am open to offers and very open to trades, let me know what you have. I am currently in the market for a Porsche 914, a VW Type 34 or MK1 GTi, so if you happen to have one of those laying round, I'd love to talk to you about a trade. I don't mind adding $$ on top.
