Super classic 1964 Mercedes Benz 220s series "Heckflosse" 4dr sedan. This is a 220-S B model, with the factory twin carburetors, which work well at all times, on a bulletproof 2.2L six cylinder engine.

It is a CALIFORNIA CAR, titled, plated and registered here. ORIGINAL California black plates. Smog exempt of course. This car was seerviced most of its life by Sal's Independent MBZ in San Francisco.

The car is a two-owner 220S B sedan. Motor runs VERY well, and it always starts fine. It runs and drives very well. It does not burn oil and it does not overheat, or leak anything.

It idles smooth like it is supposed to, with no hesitation or surge. The dual carburetors are dialed right.

NO pinging or knocking, and always run on Super gasoline. Engine idles like a clock!. Mileage is 103K original miles.

AUTOMATIC model. The Automatic transmission was rebuilt by Sal's MBZ Automotive ( an independent MB shop in SF) about 5K miles ago. It shifts fine through all forward and reverse gears, with absolutely no slippage. No rearend noises. The front end was also rebuilt by Sal's MBZ. You can feel the smoothness when you drive it, it barely shakes or moves.

It also has Power brakes and factory smooth Power Steering.

The body is very straight and solid, still with the ORIGINAL MBZ factory red finish, which surprisingly still has a shine after nearly 43 years. It has an area on the right front fender where it has corroded from trapped moisture where the antenna mast was.
The fenders (except the right one, and an original replacement fender IS included with the car!),doors, hood (area pictured), quarter panels, door sills, floorboards, window pillars, chassis, engine bay and trunk have no rust.

The interior is in above average condition, considering the age of the car. The ORIGINAL BLACK leatherette is very nice as pictured, except for a couple of very small splits on the usual bottom of the driver's seat, and a few tears on the backrest, from the sun.

The original headliner is in good condition and not sagging; it has one small area on right rear where it's decayed from age.

All glass is in good shape and it is not cracked or chipped. ALL FOUR windows roll up and down, and all doors and door locks work. Still has all its original keys!

NICE ivory steering wheel. Rare vaccum-activated wiper delay. It has the beautiful twin semaphore headlights.

ALL instruments work. Oil pressure holds steady at 45 PSI, tempetarure always runs normal around 175o, fuel gauge is accurate, as well as the charging light. Even the parking brake white light works!

The dash lights work, along with the very neat color-coded changing speedometer. Odometer also works.
Headlights, parking lights, turn signals, brake lights, wipers, original horn and courtesy lights work.

Whitewall radial tires all around, with about 85% thread, mounted on their original MBZ wheels with full hubcaps and trim.

Classic MBZ 220s "Heckflosse" fintail that you can actually use as a daily driver while you restore it.
Priced low at $2500. Restored, or even unrestored original 220S daily drivers go for a ton of money these days.
