Make this 1987 SDL a veggie burner: $4,500
Need for cash forces me to give up on my plan to turn this outstanding luxury car into a veggie burner, so I am regretfully selling. The W126 model has a 603 engine. Entire diesel plant was rebuilt at 228K. Odometer stopped at 279K, but I know it has fewer than 100,000 on the rebuild. I bought it in March 2008 from a guy in Texas and have put about $2,500 into it (and still didn’t do the conversion). The good news is that all the ****ling malfunctions common to MBs of the era have been fixed. All door locks work, AC system is completely new, brake system rebuilt, fuel lines replaced.
Car has been maintained by an authorized MB mechanic throughout its life. I am the third owner (Carfax might show four because it originally was a company lease and then the company owner bought the car.) Have my receipts and receipts from both other owners, even original sale paper work. I’ve driven it fewer than 10,000 miles.
Exterior is silver; interior is a medium blue. Power on all seats, including the rear. With the exception of a wear split on the front passenger seat, all leather is in top shape and interior is exceptional. Wood is excellent in most place; good in two on right rear door. I put a nice MB-spec’ed cover over the cracking dash. Radio w/ CD player is new and has iPod and flash disc slots. The silver paint has some fading caused by sun and the clear coat is peeling in some spots. Not unpresentable, by any means, and paint would make this a stunning vehicle for many years.
This can be a daily driver if that is your need, or you can finish my project
