FS 1986 MB 300SDL - Diesel - in Buffalo, NY from Florida
Selling 1986 Mercedes Benz 300SDL - 6 cylinder turbo diesel - Just drove it from Miami, Florida to Buffalo, NY
Car is on the road: titled, registered, & insured in New York State
192,000 miles, never seen a winter, fresh March 2011 NYS inspection
Power door locks, power windows, power leather seats, A/C (blows cold!), climate control, power moon roof. Good tires, huge trunk, good paint.
Unfortunately it does have the typical Florida cracked dash and seats (currently hiding under seat covers). Fortunately it also has the typical Florida body, engine, underside. If you've never had the pleasure of seeing a Florida car, this is a great example of one - not a flake of rust. No holes. Nothing structurally even remotely questionable. Also, fortunately this car had the cold weather package including the rear window defroster and block heater. Even comes with a current Miami/Dade college parking sticker.
This car is a hugely popular car with good fuel mileage and a cult following for WVO/SVO conversions - and one in such nice condition is rarely seen in WNY. It is, however, a 1986 and not perfect. I'll gladly show it to anybody interested, it's on the road and ready to drive. Willing to meet interested parties part way at a convenient place.
Just bought and brought up from Florida with the wonderful dreams of converting it to a Greasecar straight veggie oil/waste veggie oil, or running it on biodiesel and having a fun summer car running recycled. I'm not a liberal alternative fuel guru, Benz fanatic nor even enthusiast -- but I inspired to become one. My wife changed that idea. To the best of my knowledge this car has only been run on straight pump diesel. The gentleman I bought it from was very attentive on fluid changes (strictly synthetic motor oil, Mercedes' coolant, etc.) and maintenance; he was not at all into alternative fuel vehicles.
Would consider trade for dual sport motorcycle or more family practical diesel (VW Passat TDI, Smart Car... I dunno, can't read the wife's mind).
Have more pictures, send an email if you'd like to take a look or offer trade/part trade.
Thank you.
