Default Ancient diesel -- classic running 180D

Classic running 180 D, with all relevant original MB manuals in English. I've done most of the maintenance on it, but I'm getting too old to climb around under it any more. Mileage unknown but 350,000 +- 100,000 is my best guess. Body's in good shape, some cracks in (newish) paint, some professionally-done fill, not much rust. Engine rebuilt by Thermo-King twenty years and about 5000 miles ago (they used to use M-B OM636 engine in truck refrigeration units but no longer work on them). Shocks, bushings replaced and in good shape; steering and ride are great, engine's great, brakes and clutch likewise. Transmission and rear end swapped in from Model 190 parts car which last ran in 1974; steeper rear-end improves hill climbing but limits top speed to under 60. Original rear end and trans come with it and could be rebuilt; you also get as much of the parts car as you want.

I have a 48K JPEG of the car which for some reason won't upload to this site. I'll be happy to send it, and more pictures too, to anyone who cares to see them.

I'd like to get $1500 but will consider any offer, higher or lower (go ahead, bid it up!). As for transportation from Tuckasegee, NC, we'll have to talk about that (wanna fly here and drive it home?)

Me again -- it seems that this website doesn't like Mozilla. Internet Explorer seems to work, though, and I'm taking another hack at uploading a picture of the car.

Based on the overwhelming response to the ad above, and considering discussions of price on newer cars on the Diesel Discussions forum and elsewhere, I am giving the car away -- and, sorry to disappoint y'all, but I already have a taker (and a backup in case he changes his mind).
