Default 1985 Mercedes Benz 380SE Burgundy, NO Rust, Brand NEW Tires

FOR SALE: 1985 Mercedes Benz 380SE
***BEST OFFER***

We bought from a famous person in the area, single owner (fellow is known to take care of his stuff). It was driving just fine, suddenly had timing chain issue - basically everything else works, including AC.

Car otherwise in good condition, no rust, good body paint and BRAND NEW RUBBER all 4 tires, nice rims; current inspection ran out.

Drove beautifully for us until timing chain issue. Not sure extent of the repair; we were going to try to repair ourselves but just don't have the time necessary to devote for too long a spell. Shame to have such a nice car be on the back burner for so long...

We're not willing to sell for parts - this handsome vehicle is in just too good condition and they aren't making them anymore or not like they used to! We consequently feel a bit of a responsibility to pass on to rightful new owners, or keep in the hopes we'll eventually be able to make it a priority of getting this great car back on the road.

Sold as is. If necessary, we can have it towed within say 100 miles.

Good solid vehicle, as all these Benz's are!

My suggestion would be to include "Best offer over" a minimum amount.

When I read your post I have no sense as to what you expect; e.g. $500., $2500, $5000, etc.

A quick look online finds listings between $3,500 and $11,000 - and that was a real quick look.

Some may not want to embarrass themselves, or insult you, with an absurdly low offer here on the forum.

Since our 1983 needs-lots-of-work 300TD was acquired via a trade for radio equipment, and is the only Benz we have ever owned, I have little sense for the cash value of your vehicle.

BTW: I just looked at "New Posts" and saw this - did you post to the Classifieds area or in general discussion?

At the risk of getting someone upset you may also want to post over on benzworld.org forum.

HTH ... David
