1980 W126 280SE EURO
I have for sale my old "girlfriend" 1980 W126022 280SE Euro model with high compression M110.985 engine. This was my daily car from 1996 till 2006 when I bought ML320 replacement. Car has 157K miles on it, I have replaced the engine in 2004, (original was M110.987 with bad valve seals and spark plug threadin No.1 cylinder). Car was professionally painted for me in 1995 for $2,600 with new fenders and drivers door skin. Now, it needs paint job again. Car has rust on doors and fenders, oil leak in self leveling system on supply tube from pump to valve and headlight wipers are not working and tires are dry rotted. Engine is excellent, starting up with touch of a key, it was 79K miles on it when I removed it from W116 euro model. Many new oem parts installed with engine (radiator, alternator, fuel pump, temp. comp. fuel valve atc.) I was at the dealer only ones, just to check correct timing and air/fuel mixture but they have a lack of knowlidge about euro engines and they told me that I'm missing catalitic convertors and some engine partsso I picked it up and took it to one old german mechanic to check it. All maintenance was done by myself and I have all parts receipts since 1988. First owner was my uncle who brought the car over here from Germany. It's a very fast car, not for your kids, truly build for autobahn, I had it upto 142MPH and upto 100 every saturday morning on the way to work. Alpine stereo system w/6 disc CD changer, ABS, sunroof, 4 speed A/T, atc. Someone can restore it one more time and have nice antique or use this perfect running engine in his car. $1000 obo. Very clean interior (always covered with white sheepskin). E-mail for pictures if interested.
