purchased a 1971 250 sedan
for 700.00 and I do not know what it is worth but I do know it is worth a lot more.
The inside is like new and all original and complete. The engine has been converted to
a ford 302 V8, this is what I am not so sure about. The engine runs great, dont know the
miles on it. But I do not know how not having the original engine and tranie effects the price
of my mercedes. Does anyone have a clue what it might be worth? a range?
The paint show its age somewhat be is still ok.

RE: purchased a 1971 250 sedan
I have no idea why would anyone take a Mercedes (especially the classic ones) and place a Ford engine in it. That's like taking a Ferrari and putting in a Chevy crate engine in it. Prestige! Well value or actually worth depends on who you coming across. Someone may think that the Escalade is worththe extra ten or fifteen thousand dollars over the tahoe (with the relatively same options.) Some people will pay that much for the design some people will not because it's just not worth it to them.
I personally think it's idiotic to ever replace a Mercedes engine with a Ford V8. For seven hundred, that car is worth it. Don't those things original with original drive train usually go for around $3500 for an okay one to around $8,000 for a pristine one?
That's like taking a restored 1971 280SL and putting a Ford engine in it. Say goodby to a good $35,000
