Default IT IS FINALLY HOME!

Tuesday I finally picked up my 1987 560 SEL! It is a dream to drive and overall is in good shape. It only cost 2,000 dollars so there is some issues I need advice on.

VIN WDBCA39D5HA315673

Mileage 138000

1. Rough idle at start up. It dies right after start if I put it into drive right away. If I let the car warm up a minute before I put it into gear it rolls just fine. I replaced the air filter. It helped performance, but not the idle issue.

2. Dash lights not functioning. I replaced the fuse with no success on fixing the lights.

3. The drivers side rear power window does not work. I don't know where to start here.

4. Wipers on the headlights don't work. I was thinking of removing them anyway and filling the holes.

5. When I put it to the floor, it accelerates like a bat out of hell. If I take my foot off of the gas suddenly the front end lets out a loud "POP". If I llet up off of the accelerator easilly it does not "POP".

6. Where in the hell it the power steering fluid filling area. It groans when I turn it, but I don't know where to add the fluid. I think it is the large cylidrical thing on the drivers side of the engine compartment, but am not for sure.

Any info would be helpful. I know this is a load to start, but the car looks and drives great for a cheap initial cost.

Default RE: IT IS FINALLY HOME!

Your headlight wipers will only work when the headlights are on and you spray the windshield washer fuild. Rough idle could be plugs and wires that was my problem when i first got mine. Your dash lights do you mean the lighing for the HVAC and other switches or the lights below the gages, or the gage lights themselves? could be different problems depending on which. Does the rear window not work by both the front and rear switch? If so its likely u need a new motor or that something is unpluged in the door. Yeah ur right about the power steering filling area don't over fill. and go head and change the filter.
