Who has seen "The Passion"?
Well, this thread has lost traction. Why the indifference?
Maybe the key message was overshadowed by the graphic bloody images.
Caiaphas, the high priest asked Him...
He answered...
While addressing Pontius Pilate...
The Gospels are filled with references like...
Statements like these should bring up thoughts like...
"Is Jesus just another Easter Bunny-like fictional character, or is He for Real?"
"If He is for Real, then what is all of this talk about the Kingdom of God and Heaven?"
"Hey, I thought Jesus was just another good person -- like Mother Theresa, what is all of this talk about being the Son of God?"
"Hey, if all of this is true, then this affects my destiny in life. Where do I fit in?
Why the indifference?
A. I don't care about Jesus and I don't care about my final destiny in life.
B. Even though, experts in history agree that Jesus actually existed. Even though people visit Jersusalem every day to see where Pilate sentenced Jesus, where Jesus was placed on the cross, where the tomb was rolled away, I would rather pretend that it never happened.
C. All of this Jesus stuff was made up by the early church. It is all one big lie.
D. All of this Jesus stuff is true. I can deal with it later in life. I am having too much fun right now. Maybe, I'll think about it when I'm 30, 40, 50, 60...
What are everyone's thoughts?

Caiaphas, the high priest asked Him...
Are you The Messiah, the Son of the Blessed One?
Yes, I am. In the future, you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven.
My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest. But now, my kingdom is from another place.
The Kingdom of heaven is near... The Kingdom of God is near... Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to.

What are the chances that2,000 years from today people will be worshipping a persecuted [prosecuted]Son of [fill in yourself] who resurrected Himself[from prison] and was "reborn"to lead the flocksagain? What if His name were Jimmy Bakker?

Lean on whatever makes you most comfortable, dude.

Everyone has an opinion,, The movie is what you believe it is.

For those who believe, no proof in necessary

For those who don't no proof will be sufficient.

Just watch the movie and be willing accept the results from what you believe.

i thought it could have been more realistic. i mean really, it looked like jesus was being tickled with that whip. and where was the blood? just a trickle here and there, when they should have got the firehose out

i'm with lugnut, i'm waiting for the book to come out, though they say a movie is never as good as the written version . . . . . . .

vettdvr,

I mean no offense by this (or anything else I say) nor am I trying to start an argument of any kind, though I think debating is sometimes cool. Also, you can't sense my genuine concern for your feelings by only reading my words. This would "sound" a lot kinder if we were face-to-face.

Mel Gibson wasn't trying to prove anythingwith his movie. Indeed, itproves nothing. He wasmerely retellingbiblical stories. He usedartistic license, or his interpretation of a combination of theOld and New Testaments to be moreprecise ... and PC. Am I wrong?

As we all know, people aren't born with faith. Neither are they given faith at a school nor do theyacquire it by age like they do maturity or a girlfriend nor do they win it by completingsome task. How did you acquire your faith? Are mere words offered in a ceremonythat powerful to you?

I've always been curious about when it dons on a person that they have faith. Faithin something that someone else offers them as truth that's based solely on that person'sfaith. Do Catholic nuns beat it into you with a wooden spoon as you grow up? Do your parents force it down your throat?

I'm being facetious here because that's how I am, but I am truly curious about this. If this is too personal, don't answer and please accept my apology for asking.
