Default Tips for Starting a Career in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance

Hello all,

I’m looking to break into the heavy vehicle sector and want to focus on diesel engines. I’m curious about what skills are most valuable for Diesel Mechanics and how to stand out when applying for positions. Are there specific courses, certifications, or hands-on experiences that you’d recommend for someone just starting out?

Also, what are the day-to-day challenges in this role, and what advice would help a newcomer succeed long-term in the industry?

Any personal experiences or resources you can share would be much appreciated.
