Summertime fun.

RE: Summertime fun.
I wish I could get steady work. I'm getting tired of sitting in my boat all day drinking beer while fishing all day. I get by doing odd jobs here and there for people, mainly working on old hotrods and such. I have a few vehicles being brought to me next week that I am going to paint and do some engine work. One being a '69 Camaro, going to paint it hugger orange and strap a blower on top of his neatly built 396 thats in the car already. The other is a '41 Ford. That ones getting a midnight blue paint job and a Ford 351 Cleveland. Both very sweet cars. But still I'd rather have a 9-5 with a steady paycheck. Nobody wants to hire me, being only 23 years old and knowing as much as I do. They all look at me as a "know-it-all" and think I wouldn't be a decent employee because of it apparently. Oh well, I'm going fishin'.

rkrizan,
I bet the difficulty it is not your knowledge, but rather your preponderance for self-employment.
Simply said, employers and especially proprietorships are not eager to train, fund, or connect, the competition, or even potential future competition in your case.
The way I see it you have at least two choices. One, go ahead and go full-time into your own enterprise, if you have not already. Or two, dumb-down your resume so the managers will not feel threatened by you, and do not touch the subject of self-employment during an interview.

Inow work in the Quality Assuance Lab at the Plant!!! There has beena major problem. One of the Fans in the Klondike Bar Aftercooler broke sending shards of Fan into the Bars but no one noticed this untila Thurday morning and it had been running since Sunday night so yes we are X-raying all 135 pallets of Klondike bars in the Nascar packaging to find out when it happened so that we can salvage and sell some of the product. Yay for me cause i get paid to melt klondike bars now

That's a "cool" job.
Quality is a good field if you work for a good company. As long as the decisions seem ethical to a "reasonable person" you are in good shape. The fan coming apart is definately a random error. Who could have foreseen that happening?
