Default Seat material

Hey any one who knows about the 85 model sedans.
I have a 300 Turbo Diesel W123 body, What material is used for the seats. It feels and looks like vynil to me, but some others have told me that it's accualy leather. There is a small tear in the driver's seat that appears to be vynil, but I'm unsure.

then it must be an imitation leather.

when i use to work in saudi arabia before, parking the car under direct sunlight for two hours can scald your bottom raw if you will not open the ac first for another 5 minutes.

and during the early days of manufacturing the MB seats, they actually use the naked butt to form the contours on the still hot foam. not an easy job eh?

ouch!! Gotta be imitation. Would it benifit me to have it reapolstered or would that detract the value of the car?

it will cost about $280 imitation leather for each set and $510 each for real leather.

many can do the upholstery for a lesser price. you may try the velour. it's soft and comfy.
