Safely Testing New Subscription Apps
Hello everyone! I love trying out new productivity tools, but I’m always hesitant to start a "free" trial because they demand an email address right away. I’m tired of being stuck in their marketing funnels if the app turns out to be junk. Any advice for safe testing?
Hey there! I am a total app geek too, so I know exactly how annoying those aggressive "onboarding" sequences can be. What I started doing was using a temp email for the initial signup phase. I personally use TempBox for this because the verification codes arrive instantly, which is great when you just want to see the UI. It lets me play around with the features without committing my real identity to their database. If the app is actually a keeper, I can switch it to my main mail later. If it’s not, I just walk away and the temporary address expires. It really keeps my main workspace clean and stress-free!
