Janelle:
I have to agree with with is very fast and handles well. But the Porsche 911 turbo still has them all beat, and a close 2nd is the new Corvette. But the CL600 for a large coupe is one of the best products out of AMG's and Mercedes partnership.

The Prosche Turbo is way over $100K, The Corvette is a bargain at around $50K and the CL600 AMG I think starts in the $70K's and up. The Vette is the bargain of the bunch and I recently read in Automobile, it handles as well as some more expensive cars, and is faster then a Porsche with the turbo. It is a bargain. But Corvette's are the type of car IMHO you either love them or hate them. I like them especially since the finally dropped the pop up headlights and for the money and being an everyday driver, it's a bargain.

The point is there are other cars out ther that are faster and cost more of less. Cars are a personal choice and what we call in the sales business an iimpluse buy at times, ( I don't sell cars, by the way). the CL600 AMG is a great car, but there are other cars out there that cost more or less and overperform the AMG. In fact AMG is loosing a lot of "reputation" as the class custom car builder in Europe. as other makers are coming out with cars off the assembly line that are faster and less expensive, and big deal if the motor is not signed by the bulidler

No Janelle just likes the CL600 AMG, as I said it is a great car, but for the money or less money, there are quite a few cars out there that are faster, handle better, and as we all know Mercedes quality these days is well not what it use to be. I really don't know if having an AMG label make it a better Mercedes either?
