I have a 420 sel that i just bought and notice that there is a pump of sorts on the passenger side that has no belt on and was wondering if anyone knows what it is and what it does?

Thats what I thought but wasn't sure, thanks for the info and while I am here I have another question, how long does it take to get heat in the car and how hot can it get??

I have heat on my legs but just not as hot as I am use to in my cheaper Merkur,and this is at max heat and high blower
and no matter what I do I can't get the top to blow heat just cold air is all I get.
