Default Power Inside Rearview Mirror

Why is the adjustment of my inside rearview mirror power assisted? I have to reach farther for the adjustment joystick than the mirror itself. Plus, when I reach for the joystick I have to lean forward a bit, so I can't test my adjustment until I lean back in the seat. It's annoying.

I think it is electronic so that it can adjust when you push one of the memory buttons.

That makes sense. This is probably one of the 600 unused electronic gizmos that the new guy at M-B is getting rid of.

As Kaan stated,

It's supposed to be tied into the memory buttons, so that everything moves to the desired setting when the memory button is pressed.

hope this helps

Cheers
