its a plaque that tells about the history of the mountain's expliration and such. It is owned and up kept by Dartmouth College of New Hampshire.

 

Where is your climbing gear? If you just hike up to the top of hills, it's called "hiking". "Climbing" requires the use of special shoes, ropes, harnesses, carabiners, and belay devices, among other things...

 

nazistar ur wrong. when the ascent is majority over 45 degrees vertical, its climbing. the other dayI did mt chocura in the white mountains. At the top its in hte alpine zone (above the tree line) and There are special metal hooks to tiie into; the wind was at 70+ mph. On both of these mountains If you are not tied in and hte weahter isnot perfect out, you will literally be blown off hte side of the mountain. most mountains you cna hike to the top but to get to th e peak you muust climb. I am an AMC top-roper so dont preac climbing to me
