Default Please help a car design student

Dear All,
My name is Ben and i am in my final year at the University of Northumbria in the Uk. I study Transportation Design (basicaly car design) and for my final major project i am designing a "Purpose Built Estate Car". I was hoping that some of you who have estate's/wagon's would be so kind to help me out and give me 5 mins of your time to fill out a questionnaire that will be used as research for my final project. This would be hugely appreciated and an invaluable sourse of research to help me set off on the right tracks for my final project.

1. a) age
b) Sex m/f
c)Occupation
d)Family size
e)Car model and fuel type

2. Why do you have an estate and what do you use it for?

3. Is image inportant and what statement do you want your estate to project about yourself?

4. How could your estate be improved

Many Thanks,
Ben

1. a) age 19
b) Sex m/f male
c)Occupation manager
d)Family size split, technically 3 groups of 1
e)Car model and fuel type 190D diesel

2. Why do you have an estate and what do you use it for?
Just to be away from people with no real use

3. Is image inportant and what statement do you want your estate to project about yourself?
yes, image...we use uniqueness (sp?) to our advantage

4. How could your estate be improved
paved roads, cable, power that doesn't go out, a garage, mall near by or atleast people

Be up to this century and think HYBRID
Hybrids need batteries if electric, those alone may cost $5000. Plus disposal or repairs aren't easy. What about a hydrogen diesel hybrid?

Oh, and another thing. Design isn't everything. I'd rather have a mechanical masterpiece versus the worst vehicle in the world with the best looks. Ie; 190. It looks old, but I haven't seen one under 250k mi...

Bah!

If you're designing a wagon, give it stiff rear suspension, a nice body (see DTM CLK for example) and a suitable engine.
