What events and activities are often held at Spitalfields Market in East London, and what events or festivals are worth visiting for tourists to immerse themselves in the local community?

 

Sunday UpMarket: Every Sunday, the market hosts Sunday UpMarket, featuring more than 140 young designers, artists and food vendors offering original products and food from around the world. A couple of times I've visited. It's all very much to my liking. In general, I think spitalfields market shops is a very cool place.
