I aint even goin to read the whole thing. And yes college is corny and a waste of money but in todays society people want u to have a college degree for anything. Personally i think employers should just have a test if u pass u go to the next stage of the hiring process if not goodbye. Cause the orginal reason to go to college was to become better educated now its just to beat someone else in the job market.

If that UT guy is right, then you won't need a degree. The reason you do now is because there are so many people looking for a job that employers can demand a degree. Get rid of 90% of us and employers will be begging for employees, degrees or not.

Will he be the first to give up his life for the environment? His attitude is not new to me. At one point in my life I worked for the MA Audubon Society. I’ll never forget a conversation I had with a true believer. At one point he said, in all seriousness, that he hoped AIDS would wipe out a large portion of the human population because we humans were spoiling the earth for the other animals.
Unfortunately for the professor, being anthropocentric is a humans lot in life. One assumes that a beaver is beaver-centric, a lion is lion-centric, etc, etc. But being anthropocentric also means we can conserve natural resources and lessen our impact on the environment. When a beaver floods an area, he destroys habitat for numerous other animals. No, humans have a right to impact the environment. After all, we’re part of the scene down here too.

Yeah, I don't foresee a time when humans will line up along a tall cliff to jump off en masse to sacrifice themselves for a bunch of plants or woodpeckers or such. We're getting better every day at repairing the damage we do--just like those beavers do.
Still, there are currently a handful of diseases that are on the verge of having a profound impact on the world's population. I'm not on the doomsday wagon by any stretch, though.
