Kelly Blue Book Pricing Guides...
Has anyone else noticed how far off KBB is on their pricing of used Mercedes? Their price guides are so rediculously low it is really starting to irritate me; when somebody comes to look at my Mercedes for sale the compare the price to KBB. Well, the price KBB gives you can't even find cars for, let alone be an average price! Am I the only one who feels this way...? Many times when you compare KBB to Nada there is nearly a 50% or more difference in the values given.
That may be. I haven't researched KBB estimates for all Chevys and all M-Bs and compared them to actual street prices as deeply and thoroughly as you apparently have, so I'll take your word for it. Still, that doesn't explain the sudden and unexplained drop in value for SLs when the other estimators didn't show the same drop. Inconsistencies between KBB estimates and other estimators are the point, not street prices.
Other estimators might be better, but still way off.
In RV values NADA very often appraise the coach 50 GRANDS above it street value, but that street value is tricky, since new RV can be bought 25% below MSRP.
Appraising is an art. Not too many people know how to do it.

You're still not getting the point. If there are 5 estimators and 4 say a car is worth $10,000 but the fifth says it's worth $5,000, then the fifth is inconsistent. No matter how much doublespeak you want to sputter, that's the point.
