I give up. I'm NOT going to buy it;I can't even afford the basic model. Of course I could finance it , or lease it 100,000 miles or five years beyond its expected life, but from a real accounting perspective, If I scedule payments to payoff the car by the end of its life-span (before major and significant repairs) for two years, that's $1545.00 per month, and as a simple-nobody aerospace engineer, and MBA, I simply cannot afford it. If I go four years and include about $20k for repairs, I cannot afford it either, so whatever,

Sounds like you could use a higher paying job. What if youtradedinyour CLK?

 

The CLK isn't worth anything. Its beautiful no doubt, but after 100k miles, It has been one computer/sensor repair after another. I really want to keep it, but when it breaks, it is always some crazy problem that requires half the electronics to be pulled out, which takes forever and has been extremely expensive.I'll just say I'm not over-enthusiastic about having another one.

TomorrowI'm calling the STAR mobile service to repair the CLK.
If it goes well, then I will consider it a new option for keeping the car running.
