Default Hurricane Rita

Is everyone tired of talking hurricanes?

Rita, a cat 2 hurricane, may smack New Orleans. Looks like Texas will take a direct hit this time with New Orleans getting just high winds and rain from the outer parts of the storm. Hopefully, it won't be too bad anywhere.

I'd hate to be on the Florida Keys right now without scuba gear.

Damn. That Allah character must be really pissed.

Now it's a cat 5 and headed straight for Texas. Do we have another $200B to spend there?

I wonder if Bush will hang around for a couple of days in DC before he does anything to help Texas?

Glad I'm in Arizona. I'm sure the folks in TX will get the hell out after recent events. This can't end as badly as Katrina, can it? NOLA and Houston?

Now they are saying that Rita might switch paths and hit New Orleans again. I guess we will see. I hope Texas doesn't get hit. I am going on vacation there in 2 1/2 weeks and I have friends there! Oh by the way, word around the states is that gas prices are going up...AGAIN...so fill up your tanks now.

Well, TX isn't below sea level, so I'm sure that will make a big difference in the aftermath. If Rita is a cat 5 when it hits shore, though, TX will probably look like a dried out NOLA after a couple of days.

Someone needs to put some ice cubes in the Gulf and cool down the water.

There's one computer model that puts Rita head on with NOLA. Just one, though. All the other are substantially west of there.

Computer models of Rita.

Here we go again with the gas.
