The guy was drunk. That's why he said he was a passenger and the driver disappeared into the hillside. Also, this guy apparently is still on a slide after being on top of the world for 15 minutes.

The end of the second account is full of portent for Mr. Eirksson. " As for the mysterious Dietrich, officials said they are not searching for the alleged driver"

 

the imaginary driver was a second personality created when he knocked his mouth during that split second hammering of the electrical post.

 

Yeah, no one is falling for the other driver story. The cops are just rolling their eyes at that one and slowly gathering enough evidence to put Eriksson in the driver's seat.

One of the stories talked about both airbags having been deployed and blood only on the driver's airbag around the area where the driver's mouth would touch. Eriksson had a bloody mouth.

There may have been someone else in the passenger seat, but it was probably some well-known person's wife.

This is going to end up being one of those state versus a bunch of high-priced lawyers cases. I don't know if this story has enough gas to remain in the news, but tons of money will be floating around in the courtroom when this case goes to trial.
