the drama thread
Did any of you notice how some people treat forums like it's time to make personal comments about others? For example, publishing a post about how stupid some member is for doing something or inquiring about something. Instead of answering the question, let's just say something stupid about that person. Sometimes it even gets real ugly. I've seen forums that were worse than soap operas. I've seen simple inquiries turn into back-and-forth wars about how the other person is an idiot who lies and is ugly, etc... Good thing they don't have a kill option on forums- where members can kill eachother.
Here's what I think, and I think most of you will agree. If one has a personal opinion irrelevant to helping the person who inquires, then he should keep it to himself- right? If it has no relevance, why are they saying it. The answer is to be a tuff guy. But here's the thing... nobody cars about that person's comment, and it just interrupts the thread.
Anyway, here is what I suggest for those people:
1.) A Drama thread. This way, anybody who wants drama can go right there and stay as long as they want- even all day; and anybody who doesn't want drama can just not go to that thread.
2.) Maybe a children's area would give those people something to do... like a swing set or video game or something. This way, it will keep them busy and away from typing stupid stuff on forums... like the playground at Burger King... it keeps the kids busy while the adults eat.
I'm not saying any of this about most of you people... you guys were only mostly helpful.
