I installed a Tybox 130 wall thermostat for my parents because their old boiler was heating erratically — sometimes it was like a sauna, and other times it was cold. A couple days later, they said the buttons stopped working, and they couldn't adjust the temperature. I think it might be locked. Does anyone have the manual? They threw theirs away. I don't understand why older people are so confident that they don't need manuals. Has anyone else encountered this issue with the Tybox 130?

 

Tybox130, do you mean 130, not 110? If so, it's very similar to activated settings protection, which is a common issue with these thermostats. I work as a heating maintenance technician, and half of the “breakdowns” turn out to be just a locked menu. You have to enter service mode with a combination of buttons. I usually check the instructions on this website, manualmachine.com , and after unlocking, I also look at the weekly schedule, because often the economy mode is set for the day and people think that the boiler is not working. By the way, where did you buy it, and how much did you pay? Demand for them has increased for some reason, and prices are crazy right now.
