Have you read the Odyssey? The three sisters are "The Singing Sirens."

The whole movie was loosely based on Homer's Odyssey. Odysseus travelling to get home from a conflict afar and find his wife again, all the while having encounters and adventures along the way

... or something like that.

 

I may have that book somewhere. Nope, haven't read it. Although I completed a bachelor's degree, and attended graduate school, I have never picked up reading as a hoppy. Just never enjoyed it. I scored a 580 on the GRE in reading, good enough for most schools too.

 

I had to read it in high school. I enjoyed it, though. I usually don't enjoy classic tomes a whole lot.

 

I have too short an attention span for a long book. What where we talking about? OH ya, great movie though. The way they rode the Governer out on a rail. And John Gilgood (sp) as a grand wizard getting slammed by the cross. Too much!

 

I don't listen to Bluegrass, but I bought that soundtrack from O Brother, Where Art Thou?? also. I haven't listened to it for a while, but when I first got it I played it lots. I think its well done and a nice change from the typical pop culture music.

 

John Goodman--from Roseanne fame. Remember the "lesson" with the tree limb at the picnic?

 

Right. It's a good bluegrass CD for non-bluegrass fans.

 

Sorry; I had a brain fart. He was hilarious. I guess I'll have to watch it again.
