I think it was the oil that nixed such an idea. The oil is concentrated in certain ehtnic regions. I don't know which ones. It's not important to me. Maybe someone else can elaborate.

RockSolid has some good info. However, Palestine is not and never has been a nation. It's was invented by Arabs for political purposes. "Palestinians" lived mostly in Syria, Jordan, and Egypt until Israel became a state. Their "cause" is to kill every Jew. How sweet. Even the original leader (Arafat) of these so-called Palestinians was Egyptian.

As much as i talk about the oild i am not sure were its at in iraq either but maybe they should have done something like the USA did under the Articles of Confederation and made a weak central gov't that was in control of oil, roads, one form of money, and their military while they had smaller call them states or whatever you like based on enthnic backgrounds. Just like Drew suggested.

You need a civilized population to pull off something like that. One that supports the advancement and betterment of all, not just themselves. One that is willing to work though the central government to resolve differences rather than loading up the AK-47s and shooting everything you see. Breaking up Iraq, at least in these days, would only start a civil war.

Maybe they need to have a Civil War. We had one and the country has not been the same since that is why Historians divide the US existence as Colonialization to the Civil War and from Reconstruction to Present. And PLEASE no one take this off on a tangent about the US Civil War.

What did I tell you? Maybe they'll all just kill each other. Killing is what they do best.

I read that article and y does anybody fire a weapon of anykind into the air? Do they not understand the physics that clearly proves that the projectile will come back to Earth at the same speed which it is fired at? I don't care if there shooting AK's or shotguns on New Years its just plain irrational.

Yeah, a few people get killed each year over there from that. Why don't they use firecrackers or bird seed like everyone else? I guess because it's really hard to kill someone with a firecracker or bird seed.

I haven't had the chance to put the 560 where it truely belongs because it's stored indoors for the winter. In April, I will be back in the states to pick it up. Plan is to pick it up in ST Louis, drive to Atlanta to visit people, drive it near the port in S. Carolina, get it detailed inside and out, engine and everything, put it in another box, and ship it to Europe and meet it there at the German port. Then on to the Autobahn I go. As high as gas prices here, you get used to it in a way. Plus I can always purchase gas on post which is about comparable to the national average. And for off post, they supply gas coupons so that you still pay what is comparable to the states national average. But for the European, gas is steep. I haven't seen one 560 here or many large cars. Seen a blur of maybe a few S500 and or S600s. Most Germans have small cars or larger cars with smaller engines. I see a lot of those little Smart cars though.
