Iraq is purely GW's debacle -- I rather doubt that we'd be burning dollars and lives there if he weren't in the White House. BTW, I didn't actually refer to Clinton as a "fiscal conservative" -- I said he was the closest thing to it in a long time. I find it a bit ironic that a Dem fits that bill and a republican fits the bill of being the biggest liberal POTUS in my lifetime. That of course, would be Nixon.

My real point is that a lot of people have strong notions of what our two main political parties stand for and they're wrong. The misperceptions are based on advertising and what the parties stood for once upon a time. Apparently, old ideas die hard. What this country needs more than anything are more choices. The Canadians have some solid ideas of combining democracy with diversity. Of course, our two big parties would fight that type of system tooth and nail, just like they opposed the split electoral college bill in Colorado.

You missed my point. Doesn't surprise me.

Tell you what? I'll buy you a one-way bus ticket to Canada. You can join the other PEST sufferers there.
