Default Is a Car Lifter Worth Installing in a Home Garage?

Hello everyone.

I'm considering installing a car lifter in my home garage and wanted to hear real experiences from others. My main goals are saving floor space, improving safety during maintenance, and storing a second vehicle above the first. I’ve researched different ceiling heights, load ratings, and installation requirements, but opinions vary widely.

In the middle of my research, I came across Garage Smart solutions and wondered how they compare to traditional hydraulic lifts. Are they reliable long term?

What maintenance issues should I expect? Any advice on costs, permits, or mistakes to avoid would be appreciated from experienced homeowners and installers.
