Both. I gotta stop looking at eBay becauseI always consider buying cars when mine's fine..like this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1993-...em170196850299

That would be a good down payment for a new car plus servicing it would be killer expensive.

Yes it would be a good down payment on a new car. But if you do decide to buy that one for whatever reason I would check and make sure that AC/Heater system works good. Just a tip because in my 85 300SD I heater and AC both went at around 100,000 miles and i drove it another 70,000 before I got rid of it. I only used it during the summer and one day while getting an oil change a collecter purchased it from me for $4,000 and it had 170,000 on it.

It would really be a step up from the 190D in nearly all categories except mpg plus it's 9 years newer. I sent the guy an offer of 4k if the car doesn't sell, but I won't go out of my way and bid right now. Some of the reviews seriously scare me

What makes you interested in the C240/320?

Like you said AMG I to am realy considering buy off of it. I am tring to get rid of my winter car. (1995 GMC JIMMY SLT with 80,000 miles) I owned since new. I am hpoing to pick up an 04-05 ML350 or ML500 and I am realy seeing some nice buys off Ebay. I have herd bad and good about buying cars on Ebay. I still belive to this day thoue no matter where you buy if you get abad one you get a bad one. EX:My 1995 GMC Jimmy bought it Brand New 0 miles off showroom floor and now its got 80k on it and its been nothing but trouble from the first week I got it. And even with my C280 that has now 59k on it with in the first month I had to put a new fuel sending unit in it($450).

Thats a good idea also. I always notice that you always find a better deal after you buy.

Haha it usually does work like that. I searched for almost a year for a 190e 16v with low mileage under 120k, with a stick shift, for about $5k. There were some good deals but I didn't have enough to buy any of them until a few weeks ago where the greatest deal popped up. A 86' 190e 16v with 51k miles for 5k(!!) however the only down side is that it's an automatic, which is replaceable. So I bought it and pick the thing up some time in June

AMG you got really lucky.Thats a nice buy you got there. When I was looking for a smaller car to commute with I wanted a C Class(280,240,320). I bought a 2000 c280 with 53,000 miles with some dents for about 13,000. then i had to put about 1,300 into it so far. Bad choice on my part. lol After I got I it I realized I could of gotton an older E Class like the one I aslo have or a C240 OR 320. [:@]Stupid me.
