In your area what would u consider an acceptable income? And why that amount?
Here i would say 50K but i know people that make alot more and alot less. IMO its all about what you need or want in life and if u are willing to wait to get things or will go in debt to get what u want like say a car or another item that someone may finance. My parents taught me to finance nothing except a house cause you are basically paying more than what it costs just so u can have it and its value drops.

$12k for me is like winning the lottery every month.
i'm on $2k now monthly
and can only afford to eat beef once a week.
when God was spreading luck on this earth, i must have brought a very small basket with me.

What's wrong with eating bait and beer for dinner?
Minimum wage here in WA is near $7.50/hour. That's near $15,000/year for a lowly Wally-world associate or Micky D's burger flipper. Too bad a cheap lunch now costs $8 to pay for it.
If you worked for Starbucks, you would get insurance, benefits for your gay spouce and make near $11/hour; plus share the socialist mindset...and tip jar. You will also be able to smile selling coffee worth $.40 a cup to idiots for $4.00. Lets see... one cup a day for every working day. That's $800 per year for coffee. Think about it. I make better coffee at home for pennies a cup. I think Lugnut beat this dead horse though (sorry).
Cut your hours to part time and go back to school if you can. A college education ( a BS, BA or BBA) will make you part of the top 1% of educated people in the world and greatly improve your options for making $$$ for the rest of your life.
