Can anyone help Please, I have a300D 1981 Series 123. and I had to replace the main starter/steering switch and found another switch, but the wires need to be matched up right for the switch. HAS ANYONE GOT SOME HELP PLEASE.

Thankyou sleepwalker, I am so desperate to find out the exact wires which are colout coded that go into the back of the switch/steering lock at the back of the switch.
On the back of the switch/steering lock there are only numbers but does not identify the different wires where they should be plugged into. I need the information which says for e.g. red/black go to 50. or red/yellow go to 15x etc. Non of the Merc dealers or wreckers want to give me the info.
I would be very gratefull to anyone that could give me the info. It is a great car.
