Default WARNING EBAY CROOK!!!

hi i am new to this forum, it is unfortunate this has to be the topic of my first thread.

but recently i have purchased a intake kit off ebay for my 1984 190e 2.3L from ebay user "steelwindow" for 150$. sure, it was my mistake to pay that much. i had assumed it was high quality like he described. ok well i had a bunch of questions to ask to this guy such as, " do u need to have a special kit made since my car has no powersteering no ac no cruise control", etc. etc... he never answered my questions just brushed me off. so i was like whatever this guy must be very busy or something. well assuming his products were good i gave it a shot. so i did a "buy it now" and had my money ready to go get a money order to send out the following day of the auction. so i did just that, didnt get any response for over a week and a half. asked him what was up if he got payment or not told me that he will send it out that week's saturday. lied to me about when he sent it out then told me that he made a mistake in the email. and the package will be sent the following week. then recieved my package almost a month after money was sent out and the auction ended. so i told him u cant expect me to give u positive feedback due to this type of service. i was told that it was fine, money order types take longer anyways. so once i got it opened it up and looked at it it was nothing more than just simple parts anybody could make by goin to the junkyard picking up an intake boot from a volkswagon and some intake pipe for a honda from autozone. so not only was i not satisfied with service i paid 150$ for straight junk. PLEASE BE ADVISED EBAY SELLER "steelwindow" IS A FRAUD.

i will post all email transactions between this seller when i have a chance sometime later this week. i suggest no body buy any goods off of this guy regaurdless of his feedback.

i suggest we strap 42 weather baloons on this guy without the pellet gun, parachute and sixpack of beer.

he might survive the more than 10,000 ft altitude, but the FAA is going to fine him anyway.

i Feel for you, I was scamed on eBay on some software I bought. But a bit of advice, if you payed via Pay Pal you can file a complaint, asap and I got my money back. Also, another tip don't leave negative feedback until you contact either Pay Pal of eBay, negative feedback I found makes it more difficult to get resolution. In fact after I got my check back and cashed and it was OK. I left positive feedback but stating the seller returned my money and was cooperative. I haved been told sellers will not let a buyer bid if they leave negative feedbacks. These sellers especially the big ones with stores are organized and have their own "club" Also, I have heard eBay will cut off buyers with too many negative feedbacks, don't know if this is a fact, But I was selling some items from a Bimmer I had, and one person was writing the bidders that the bids were more than I paid. I cut him off the bidding, why he did this I don't know I had no reserve and it was a 7 day auction highest bidder wins. I did get $200 over the list, but I included S/H to the buyer who was in California and the item cost me $100 plus to ship very 2nd day delivery. When I contacted paypal and filed the complaint, I received a email from the seller saying he would refund my money asap and a week later I got the check less S/H, but I spent close to what you did, so I was glad. When a seller doesn't answer questions and if their feedback in below 99% I walk away. Again I am really sorry, as I got scamed twice, but both times I did do the above and got my money back. I have also written buyers you have given negative or neutral feedback asking what happened, most answered back and I was saved from a bad buy. Most people are good are answering questions about feedbacks they leave.

As the Greeks? say, Let the buyer beware!

One last point I made a DIY ram intake for less then $50. and it worked fine. I had to make a new one as I had the pipe too short.

Lastly cool heads prevail with these situations, contact either paypal or if you don't use paypal contact eBay, they are very senitive to things like this.

Sorry to hear you got burned.

Thanks for the heads up.

And I like the idea of the weather balloons ....

Though... let him fly and give us the pellet gun ! LOL

C280 wizard has some good advice there.

Make sure you check out the sellers feedback and do your homework ... it'll be worth it in the long run.

cheers
