Default W140 - S320 model 1998

Hello everyone,
I have a Mercedes benz W 140- 320 -1998 and suddenly the ABS/ASR lights came on the the instrument cluster, moreover the steering wheel became very heavy. After a while I switched off the engine and restarted , the problem was over but after a while it again happened, I was under the impression that as earlier in the day some liquid spilled into the rear seat by my kids and there must be some sensors beneath the rear seat and that must have damaged the sensing unit, however I removed the rear seat and got the spilled liquid cleaned at the base of the rear seat. The problem persists, please help.
