Turn signal muti switch replacement

Default Turn signal muti switch replacement

Hi guys can anyone help me? I have an E240 V6 Year2000, lately the muti function arm is playing up. the main beam on/off has stopped working.Firstly do I have to take off the steering wheel to replace faulty switch? if I do what are the steering wheel removel instructions? kind regards Sean

you do need to remove the airbag....2 torx in the back of the wheel...youll need a long T30. remove the bag...make sure your wheel is centered and straight. then the wheel and then there is another T30 under the column by the steering wheel that you loosen all the way but it wont come out. then remove component accordingly. tape the clockspring to keep it centered so it doesnt turn. youll also need another smaller torx and a small philips head screwdriver. you should disconnect the car battery too.
