Default transmission fluid C240

A few months ago I attempted to change the transmission fluid and filter in my C240. I had done this operation before so I have no excuse for the mistake that I made this time around. After draining the fluid I mistakenly put the fluid into the crankcase via the WRONG port behind the air cleaner. I started the engine and gave it time to warm up. When I placed the shifter into gear, it didn't move. I shifted from forward to reverse a few time but when there was no movement I KNEW I DID SOMETHING WRONG. I corrected my mistake. I replaced the crank case oil and filter and filled the transmission with the proper amount of MB fluid. This was an expensive mistake. Eight quarts of Mobil ONE, a new filter and 3-4 quarts of transmission fluid. I started the engine and its OK. After driving the car I notice a slight hesitation from time to time when pulling out from a dead stop. The tranny would not engage until there was a slight rise in the RPM's. This doesn't happen all the time and not few often. Other than that, no issue. Should I expect a shorter transmission life. I have 188,000 miles on the car and do all of the maintenance myself. I keep notes on each operation now along with the maintenance and mileage so that this type of thing doesn't happen again. Have I damaged this transmission?
